Kingston Intros College-Themed Mobile Phone Cards

Clear a little more shelf space at the college bookstore checkout stand: Memory product company Kingston Technology (Fountain Valley, CA) has kicked off a new line of 1 GB and 2 GB microSD "Collegiate" cards to let students, family, alumni, and faculty add fight songs, school logo wallpapers and other school content to their mobile phones.

Given the portability of microSD cards, users can add their spirit to any phone to which they might upgrade. The cards come preloaded with access to official National Collegiate Athletic Association content for more than 250 universities and colleges via mobile phone content provider BustedThumbs' web site. A unique user code provides the pathway to BustedThumbs' ringtones and wallpapers which are sent to a user's phone via distribution technology from Movaya Wireless (Seattle, WA).

The cards give users the choice of one ringtone or wallpaper and instructions on how to install the content. The cards also provide users with the means to purchase and install more ringtones or other content.

The cards cost $19.99 for the 1 GB card and $34.99 for the 2 GB version. Collegiate card content covers schools from various conferences, including the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Conference USA, Independents, Ivy League, Missouri Valley, Pac-10, SEC and WAC.
