Tiffin U's New Online College to Use Pearson's eCollege for Course Management

Beginning this fall, students in Tiffin University's newest online program, Ivy Bridge College, will use eCollege, a course management system from Pearson, for all of their online courses. The 2,350-student Tiffin U is located in Tiffin, OH and offers both on-campus and online classes. Since 2005, those online courses have been managed through Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution.

Ivy Bridge College, with about 200 students, will be using eCollege instead of Jenzabar for its online associate of arts degree program in general studies. The program differs from other online programs at the university by the college's use of success coaches, who help students with organizational and time management skills, staying on task, problem resolution, living a healthy lifestyle, and college survival skills. The university's online tutoring service will help them with their coursework.

"eCollege's comprehensive learning platform offers Ivy Bridge students effective online programs in a reliable course management system," said Cam Cruickshank, managing director of Ivy Bridge College and VP for enrollment management at Tiffin.

eCollege's ClassLive Pro service, powered by Elluminate, adds live discussion and interaction between students and faculty and among student groups.



The eCollege platform is in use by the San Mateo County Community College District in California and Texas A&M University-Commerce.
