2 Institutions Migrate Student Management to Web-Based System

Two institutions--Southern Careers Institute and American University of Antigua--have both adopted software from TopSchool. TopSchool refers to its application as student lifecycle management. Delivered as a Web-based service, the software includes components for management of admissions, enrollment, academics, student finances, and student placement.

Southern Careers is a for-profit school with seven campuses in Texas. The institute sought a student information system that could be used at multiple campuses and still provide enterprise-wide reporting and analysis.

"TopSchool provides an easy way for each of our campuses to take charge of their own student information management in a consistent manner, while still providing an integrated, central location for our administration to view, manage and report on data as a whole," said Joe Fox, CEO of SCI. "Not only does TopSchool's system center around the success of our students, it allows our administrators to benefit from its flexible, easy-to-use system and cost-effective SaaS model, which are second to none in the industry."

The Antigua university, which prepares students for medical careers, subscribed to TopSchool to improve communication with prospective students and improve business processes.

"With our consistent growth in enrollment, we found we had simply outgrown our existing system. The reality of the time and expense it took to maintain our current system made it clear to us that we were ready to move up to a more powerful system and service delivery model," said Tom Gardner, vice president and CTO of the Caribbean-based school. Additionally, the system will easily adapt to our plan for continuous improvement as student needs evolve."

The company said in a statement that since launching in mid-2008, its applications have been adopted at 48 institutions.
