EducationDynamics Acquires Education Connection Services

EducationDynamics, a company with applications, Web sites, and services to help colleges and universities with student marketing and retention efforts, has just acquired one of its college search competitors, Education Connection. The latter has a popular Web site that matches up prospective students with potential degree programs that match their education criteria. Education Connection was sold by Kaplan, a subsidiary of The Washington Post Co. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

The two companies share "a similar passion" around developing services in the education space, said Steve Isaac, CEO of EducationDynamics. "This acquisition further enhances our online lead generation offerings to provide higher education institutions highly-qualified prospective students with an increased propensity to enroll and complete the programs they start."

EducationDynamics already owns several high-visibility Web sites, including eLearners.com, EarnMyDegree.com, GradSchools.com, and 50 other special interest microsites.
