Oakland City U Implements Self-Service for Students

Oakland City University, a private university with 2,100 students in Indiana, will be implementing a hosted system from SunGard Higher Education. The institution, which is already a SunGard Banner customer, said it's licensing PowerCampus Digital Campus to improve self-service for the campus community.

"PowerCampus will help us to offer our students a range of online capabilities so that they can manage the subordinate tasks necessary to support their academic experience online and at their convenience, without having to take the time to come to campus," said Robert Yeager, vice president for administration and finance. "We want to create a user-friendly environment to give our constituents a better experience, and enhance our communications from department to department and individual to individual."

The university contracted with the vendor to have the system hosted on SunGard's equipment. "PowerCampus Hosting helps eliminate the burden and the worry of supporting our administrative system," said Yeager. "We can be confident that we will have the latest version of PowerCampus installed, and that the servers and supporting infrastructure are up to date and will be at a level to help provide optimum uptime and reliability for our users."
