Knovel Adds Material Sciences Reference to Digital Collection

Universities that tap into the technical content provided digitally through Knovel will soon be able to add the Materials Information Society--ASM--information to their data searches. Knovel will be adding ASM's data on selection, properties, processing, and performance of materials to its engineering and applied sciences content.

Knovel said that currently it partners with 70 international professional societies and publishers to provide access to technical content in 23 engineering subject areas.

"Partnering with Knovel means that ASM's leading knowledge base of materials data will reach even more engineers," said Stan Theobald, managing director of ASM International. "By combining our content with the interactive, personalized, and optimized data search features provided by Knovel, engineers will be able to make better choices when selecting materials for their products and projects." The society's best-known information resource is the ASM Handbook series, which along with atlases of fatigue curves and stress-strain curves, are included in the set of ASM information that will be available from Knovel.

The content from ASM will be made available to Knovel subscribers in summer 2010.
