1105 Media Acquires School & College Building Expo

Chatsworth, Calif. — 1105 Media, Inc., producers of the international education events FETC and Campus Technology, and publishers of THE Journal and Campus Technology, is expanding its education portfolio with the acquisition of the School & College Building Expo from JD Events.

“This acquisition is a perfect fit with our current tradeshows and conferences,” said Neal Vitale, president and CEO of 1105 Media, Inc. “It expands our audience and diversifies our exhibitor base, and makes FETC even more of a destination for the education community each winter.”

The School & College Building Expo, previously held each spring by JDEvents, will move next year to late January in Florida. It will be co-located with FETC, the internationally-renowned and widely-attended education technology conference, in Orlando on January 23-26, 2012.

“Bringing individuals who design schools under the same roof as those involved in education technology offers important collaboration opportunities,” said Jeanne Jackson, AIA, 2011 Chair of the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA CAE). “We are pleased with the transition and look forward to continuing our relationship with the School & College Building Expo and partnering with 1105 Media.”

Although the expo will be co-located with FETC, it will remain a separate event with its own registration, exhibit hall, sessions, speakers and related activities.

“By acquiring the School & College Building Expo, we hope to bring a broader level of exposure and added value to all our attendees,” said Wendy LaDuke, president and group publisher for the 1105 Media Education Group. “We look forward to giving architects, engineers and other design and construction professionals across the nation an enhanced learning opportunity.”
