Symphony, AST Partner for Captioning Workflow To Create Accessible Educational Media

Symphony Video and Automatic Sync Technologies have just completed a joint effort to create an integrated workflow with built-in management controls to streamline the video captioning process.
Symphony's Ensemble Video Software, now features an integrated solution for seamless video captioning, using AST's fee-based SaaS CaptionSync. It's currently in use at Syracuse University.
Public education institutions in the United States are required to provide accessible materials to students, employees, and members of the public under Section 508 of the Americans With Disabilities act. Accessible content needs to be accessible in a number of different ways and not rely on the end user having one specific sense or ability available to them.
Captioning video is one way to make the content more accessible for students, instructors, and staff with hearing disabilities. With Ensemble Video Software bundled with CaptionSync, colleges and universities can aggregate captioning volumes, which will allow for quicker creation of accessible media.
Ensemble Video is a SaaS rich media management and publishing platform, either self-hosted or in the cloud, that allows multiple users across a single organization to manage, distribute, and share video.
CaptionSync is an automated captioning program that accepts electronic submission of videos and other program media, and generates standard-format caption files, ready for broadcast, DVD authoring, video platform software, and in a number of Web-media file formats, including QuickTime, Flash, and Windows Media.
CaptionSync can use a single submitted video to simultaneously create caption output for multiple types of media.
