Brief: Contest Awards Scholarships for Student Videos

McGraw-Hill has selected winners for its Get Connected and Win contest, which asked students to create videos highlighting how they interact with digital course materials and learning tools for the chance to win scholarships, iPads, iPod Touches, and Amazon gift cards.

Johanna Delgado, a student at Florida National College, was awarded $5,000 for her first place finish. Nader Ibrahim of the University of Texas at San Antonio took second place and a $2,000 scholarship for his video, and Luis Lopez of the University of Nebraska at Omaha earned $1,000 for creating the third place video.

"Winners were selected by public votes and an elite judging panel made up of top academicians, leading third-party educational organizations, and members of the media covering and influencing key issues in technology and education," according to information released by the company.

In all, the top 50 submissions received prizes.
