Instructure Canvas Expands Support for McGraw-Hill Campus

McGraw-Hill Higher Education and Instructure have partnered to expand support for McGraw-Hill Campus, a service specializing in providing digital resources and course integration, within Instructure's Canvas, an open source LMS.

The partnership will expand the reach of the McGraw-Hill Campus service, which was first rolled out last July as a means of offering universal, single sign-on access to McGraw-Hill offerings to students and educators from within a school's existing LMS at no cost. With the service, the entire library of McGraw-Hill resources can be accessed with the service with a single click for browsing of test banks, e-books, PowerPoint slides and other offerings.

The McGraw-Hill Campus service is currently in use in more than 300 institutions across the nation, according to information provided by McGraw-Hill.

"This integration simplifies access to educational content and makes it easier for instructors to take advantage of McGraw-Hill's world-class curriculum," said Brian Whitmer, Instructure co-founder and vice president of Products.

With the integration of McGraw-Hill campus and Canvas, users will be able to access a variety of McGraw-Hill resources directly from Canvas to allow more seamless usage via single sign-on access as well as automatic registration. In turn, this will reduce the time needed to access resources as well as reducing the difficulty of accessing needed materials.

Instead of accessing multiple Web sites and using different registrations, digital offerings will be available for users from a single source.

"The digital transformation of education is beginning its next stage and requires a new level of access and integration," said Brian Kibby, president, McGraw-Hill Higher Education. "As educational resources increasingly move online, instructors and students are demanding greater access to more and better content as well as an integrated experience that's totally seamless. By partnering with Instructure, we're bringing institutions the best of both worlds: our high-quality content combined with hassle-free digital integration. The end result is a richer – and simpler – learning environment that enhances teaching and learning."
