Vanderbilt Campus Dining Launches New Inventory and Procurement System
Vanderbilt University has rolled out a new food service inventory and procurement system, intended to streamline processes and control costs at 19 locations across the campus.
According to an announcement, the Windows-based Eatec software from Agilysys integrates with Vanderbilt's point of sale (POS) system and includes inventory, purchasing, recipe, forecasting, production, and sales analysis tools. The system has a modular design, allowing the university to expand or reconfigure their implementation as needs change. Available modules include catering, cycle planning, and retail management, among others.
"We selected the Eatec solution after an exhaustive search for an inventory and procurement system that not only would integrate with our varied restaurants but also with our different delivery methods of production and service," said Camp Howard, director of Vanderbilt Campus Dining, in a prepared statement. "Eatec allows us to accurately forecast and manage food costs in real time; and its two-way integration with our POS system provides real-time access to a complete [profit and loss], from revenues to costs."
The system also gives Vanderbilt the ability to share nutritional and allergen information with diners and tracks their performance against sustainability standards. According to Agilysys, both on premises and hosted versions are available.
