Ellucian Intros Enterprise CRM for Higher Ed
Ellucian has debuted its new constituent relationship management (CRM) solution built specifically for colleges and universities.
Ellucian Enterprise CRM is built on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform and consists of three components: a recruitment tool (Ellucian Recruiter), a student success solution, and an advancement solution. The components can be licensed and implemented individually or as a complete solution, either as an on-premise solution or using a software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment.
Ellucian Enterprise CRM uses the Ellucian Extensible Ecosystem (Ellucian XE) to enable real-time access and synchronization with other Ellucian products. The CRM solution integrates with core administrative systems, so people from multiple departments can access the information they need to personalize information for students and recruits.
Higher education institutions have been adopting generic CRM platforms as higher education CRM vendors have fallen behind in capabilities, "particularly in the area of multi-channel communications," according to Nicole Engelbert, industry technologies practice leader for Ovum. "Ellucian's development of a higher-education specific CRM on a leading third-party enterprise platform changes the game by offering the best of both worlds," she said in a prepared statement.
According to Mark Jones, senior vice president and chief product officer for Ellucian, Ellucian Enterprise CRM provides higher education institutions with "an extensible CRM platform that supports their unique processes for enrollment, student success, and development, and will grow with them as their needs evolve."
Key features of Ellucian Enterprise CRM include:
- Solutions for recruitment, student success, and advancement;
- General CRM capabilities; and
- Higher education-specific data models, business logic, workflows, dashboards, and reports.
