USC To Begin AV Systems Installation for New Journalism Facility
The University of Southern California (USC) is adding a new 88,000-square foot building to its Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Wallis Annenberg Hall, scheduled to open fall 2014, will include technology-enabled classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, auditorium, newsroom and media center, research labs, and public forum space.
Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS), an audio-visual systems integrator based in Seattle, WA, will lead the design and installation of the audiovisual technologies to be included in the new facility. The company will also "build television, radio, and webcast studios, as well as control rooms and edit bays," for the hall's 20,000-square foot newsroom, according to a prepared statement from ABS. The newsroom and media center will be outfitted with systems to support television and radio broadcast production and post-production processes.
ABS is currently reviewing technologies and equipment for the project. Vendor partners in consideration for this project include Adobe, Avid, Primestream and Ross. Roll out and installation is slated to wrap up by the end of April 2014.
