William Paterson University of New Jersey Adopts LAN-TV
Students at William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ) can now watch and record their favorite television shows, from their mobile devices, without draining campus bandwidth.
WPUNJ has adopted Philo, a LAN-based TV service. The new service, the first of its kind in the state according to the company, enables resident students to stream live television shows to their preferred devices, from any location on campus. Individuals who don't reside on campus may access the service, while at the school, to view non-premium, broadcast programming. DVR capability is included in the package.
The new service, which runs over WPUNJ's private data network, replaces the school's coax cable infrastructure.
