Mohave Community College Automates Student Verification With Regent Education

Mohave Community College is streamlining its student verification process with software from Regent Education. The Arizona institution serves more than 13,000 students a year at four campuses and online.

With Regent Review, Mohave is automating the collection of student verification documents, C-code processing, task assignments and workflows. Students and staff receive real-time notifications throughout the process, such as acknowledgement of receipt of documents and updates on the progression of verification. The automation allows Mohave's student services staff to focus on advising, personal outreach and increased "touch time" for students.

"Verification is one of the most costly tasks we perform in the administration of Title IV financial aid," said Ana Masterson, dean of student services for Mohave, in a press release. "With Regent Review we will be able to streamline the process for students, reduce processing costs and implement additional compliance controls."

Regent Review's compliance-oriented features include:

  • Audit trail for all submitted documents, student communications and processing history;
  • ISIR processing features;
  • Approved electronic signature capabilities; and
  • Single sign-on options.

"With Regent Review we will have one system for processing, customer service inquiries and a single source for retaining information for compliance and auditing purposes," said Shannon Sheaff, director of financial aid for Mohave, in a prepared statement. "Regent Review pre-populates information for students to make the process simple, and prevents frustrating and time-consuming conflicting information errors. The increased regulatory compliance and the annual policy changes have made verification increasingly challenging. We wanted to be sure we had a process that ensures compliance while also driving our customer service initiatives."
