Harrison College To Distribute KnowU Online Learning Environment

Harrison College has teamed up with a private partner to make its KnowU learning environment available to other career schools and higher education institutions.

Designed by the college to create a sense of community among online learners, the customizable platform features collaboration tools and can be integrated with third-party platforms.

Features of KnowU include:

  • Social networking tools;
  • Facilitated discussion groups;
  • Networking forums;
  • News feeds;
  • The ability to connect to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter; and
  • "Direct access to personalized internal institutional support, hot topics, financial aid, course information, FAQs, and also to external career resources," according to a news release.

The school has partnered with Cengage Learning to market and distribute the platform.

"We are very excited to be partnering with Cengage to make the KnowU platform available to the higher education community," said Dennis Trinkle, provost and chief academic officer at Harrison College, in a prepared statement. "KnowU is a remarkable platform for driving student engagement and retention, and Cengage is a stellar organization with a long history of helping institutions to find the content and platforms that they need to achieve their goals.  We are confident that by working together, we can help KnowU elevate the success of many institutions in these challenging and demanding times."
