AMX Debuts Mobile Screen Sharing Platform

AMX has introduced a suite of collaboration technologies, including screen mirroring from mobile devices and new control pads, at Educause 2014 in Orlando.

amx enzo platform collaboration toolThe screen mirroring is part of the company’s Enzo platform, a sharing and collaboration tool for meetings and classrooms. Students or instructors can now relay their mobile screens to larger audiences, via projectors or other screens, by using a special app. It also works with laptops running Windows or Mac operating systems.

Massio ControlPads, another new addition, are small (six- and eight-button models are offered) but feature many of the same control capabilities of a central controller, such as AV, lighting, or HVAC systems. The eight-button model also features a control knob that adjusts volume and lighting more gradually.

The control pads can be configured using the company’s Rapid Project Maker (RPM), a cloud-based configuration tool that requires no programming to install. The latest version of RPM was also debuted at Educause, and features the ability to control two rooms from the same switcher, as well as support for the Enzo platform and video signal presence macros (meaning event macros can be triggered automatically by connecting or disconnecting auxiliary video sources).

AMX is demonstrating at booth No. 139 at this year’s Educause 2014 conference in Orlando. A tutorial video produced by the company on the new screen sharing abilities is available online.
