Florida A&M Ramps Up Document Management Project

Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL has selected ImageNow from Perceptive Software for a multi-department document management project. ImageNow captures information from sources including online forms, faxes, paperwork, and e-mail, and stores it in an electronic repository. Documents can be linked to other information systems and files automatically sent to staff members for review.

Florida A&M will initially implement ImageNow in its division of administrative and financial services including the controller's office, human resources, budget office, and academic affairs.

"ImageNow will allow our institution to create new efficiencies by converting paper to electronic format, removing manual processes, and automating workflow," said Jacqueline Dowdy, associate controller.

ImageNow includes integration technology, called LearnMode, which will allow the university to integrate document management with the institution's PeopleSoft implementation.

Current higher ed users of ImageNow include the University of Michigan, the College of Southern Maryland, and Georgia Institute of Technology.
