Utah Valley U Installs Vucci Virtual Lab

Utah Valley University has received a $100,000 donation of equipment and services from Vucci Technology Solutions to outfit the athletic department computer lab with virtual desktops and managed services. The new lab, named the Vucci Computer Lab, is open year-round to all student athletes and their tutors. The virtualization installation is expected to cut power usage by as much as 97 percent.

"We are very excited by the benefits this new computer lab offers," said Ray Walker, Utah Valley's CIO. "The virtual desktops in the new computer lab allow us to run the lab with higher efficiency while at the same time cutting our energy, management and operating costs."

The new computer lab showcases the first implementation of Vucci's virtual desktops. Vucci provides services encompassing virtualization, IT consolidation and capacity planning, design and implementation, data center transformation, and business continuity and availability.
