Ivy Tech CC To Launch Virtual Support Center To Improve Enrollment, Retention

Indiana's Ivy Tech Community College will launch a virtual student success center in an effort to improve enrollment, retention, and graduation rates.

The center is part of Ivy Tech's "Accelerating Greatness" initiative, which is designed to improve the experience of nearly 200,000 students at the school.

Ivy Tech is partnering with Blackboard Student Services to "provide technology-enabled solutions and virtualized support," according to information released by the company. As part of the partnership, the company will provide an automated self-service portal for on-demand assistance with student communications, enrollment, financial aid, registration, admissions, student accounts, and learning support.

"We have seen substantial growth in enrollments over the past few years and recognized how critical it was to focus on maintaining the highest levels of satisfaction with the services we deliver to students," said Ivy Tech President Thomas Snyder. "Engaging Blackboard Student Services enables us to make improvements that deliver an immediate, engaging, and personalized services experience to our students through a virtual center, while allowing our current staff to work more closely with students on campus."

With campuses throughout Indiana, Ivy Tech is the state's largest post-secondary educational institution "and the nation's largest singly-accredited statewide community college system," according to information released by the school.
