Cal Poly Inks E-Procurement and Supplier Management Deal

California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) has implemented a new e-Procurement solution in an effort to streamline purchasing processes.

According to Cal Poly contracts and procurement buyer lead Brenda Tesch, the university chose ESM Solutions' easyPurchase for its intuitive nature, which automates spend with its contracted suppliers, allowing users to see spend data and leverage purchasing within each department, across the university.

Features of easyPurchase Basic include:

  • Cloud-based access for anytime, anywhere use;
  • e-Commerce shopping experience with finger-friendly tablet navigation;
  • Single-level online approval routing;
  • P-card and purchase order support;
  • Analytics dashboard; and
  • Data extract for analysis.

Upgraded features are available in the easyPurchase Professional and Enterprise packages, which include integration into other ESM Solutions products such as the easySourcing suite, a smartphone approval Web app, and customizable interface for institutional branding.

Cal Poly will use both E&I pre-negotiated and other preferred contracts to streamline its purchasing processes and will be provided both hosted and punch-out contracted catalogs as well as P-Card, approval routing, and back office support capabilities by ESM Solutions.

Cal Poly is a four-year public university serving nearly 19,000 students and offering 64 bachelor's, 31 master's, one doctorate of education in association with UC Santa Barbara, 68 minors, and 14 credentials. The campus is located in San Luis Obispo, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on California's central coast.
