Cambridge University Press, Knewton Partner To Improve Adaptive Digital Resources
Cambridge University Press and Knewton have partnered with the stated goal of improving the publishing company's next generation of digital English language teaching products.
To accomplish the enhancement, the partnership will focus initially on integrating the Knewton application programing interface (API) within the Cambridge learning management system platform.
The integration is intended to allow Cambridge to "incorporate recommendations and analytics into both self-paced and instructor-led blended learning materials to help educators monitor student performance in real-time," according to a company release.
"Providing innovative learning solutions that make a meaningful difference in each student and teacher's life is our top priority," said Michael Peluse, global managing director for English language teaching, in a prepared statement. "Adding Knewton technology to our state-of-the-art digital products means they will become even more effective, providing teachers with the information and the tools to help them evaluate course content, identify student competencies, and deliver tailored lessons accordingly."
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in New York City, NY, Knewton provides partners including Pearson, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Macmillan Publishing with an infrastructure platform that "leverages advanced technology and data science to improve educational experiences," according to the company Web site.
