NEC Display Solutions of America has rolled out three new projectors capable of creating a 4K-resolution image.

The new generation of PA Series multimedia installation projectors — models PA521U, PA571W and PA621X — use a screen splitter (multidisplay) via daisy chain to connect four projectors through TileMatrix, resulting in a 4K image. Images can be transmitted from laptops, tablets, smartphones and campus networks.

The PA521U features 1,920 x 1,200 native resolution and 5,200 lumens of brightness; the PA571W has 1,280 x 800 resolution and 5,700 lumens of brightness; and the PA621X has 1,024 x 768 resolution and 6,200 lumens of brightness. All three models offer 5,000:1 contrast ratios.

Other features include:

  • 4,000 hours of lamp and filter life with ECO Mode
  • Edge blending software and hardware;
  • Geometric Correction Tool, allowing users to project images onto any surface, such as a cylinder, sphere or corner;
  • Stacking capabilities to boost image brightness (up to four projectors);
  • Tilt-free and portrait mode capabilities;
  • 3D capabilities using XPAND glasses and emitters;
  • Horizontal and vertical lens shift;
  • Dual HDMI inputs/outputs and DisplayPort for looping up to four projectors;
  • Wired and wireless networking; and
  • Bundled options with lenses available.

The PA521U, PA571W and PA621X projectors are priced at $5,799, $3,899 and $4,499, respectively. For more information, visit the NEC Display site.
