OrcaTV Launches Campus Life Channel Platform

OrcaTV, a digital media company focused on higher education, has launched a media platform designed to help students, faculty and staff stay in touch with campus news with a campus life channel.

The platform allows students, faculty and staff to submit and schedule content, including alerts, course information, public service announcements, videos, flyers, files or social media content. "The OrcaTV portal then facilitates the review and curation of the content, encodes or transcodes the content into suitable format, sets the programming for the campus life channel and then seamlessly distributes the channel across campus through digital signage, cable television and the Internet," according to a news release.

Administrators can define content rules, methods of distribution and more.

"It's exciting to see how relevant our platform is," said Rajiv Shenoy, founder and CEO at OrcaTV, in a prepared statement. "Showcasing student content and curating campus social media keeps it engaging — all while reducing the challenges administrators face managing various content and technologies."
