Dell Intros Cloud Access Manager 8, Adds Security Analytics Engine

Dell has released the latest version of its Web-access management system, Cloud Access Manager 8, which offers features designed to help organizations control Web-based and mobile application activities and provide secure access for visitors and personal devices.

The new features in Dell's Cloud Access Manager 8 are designed to make it easier for IT departments to provide users with access to mobile and Web-based services using any device, while maintaining the security of campus resources. The latest version incorporates the company's Security Analytics Engine at no added cost, along with single sign-on capabilities through social media platforms, support for the OAuth 2.0-based OpenID Connect Protocol and Microsoft Certification.

Key features of Cloud Access Manager 8 include:

• Dell's Security Analytics Engine, which performs run-time risk evaluations designed to help organizations scale their security based on the situation;
• Social authentication, which lets users sign on using their Google, Microsoft Live ID, Facebook or Twitter credentials;
• Policy-based access control, which helps ensure that users can only access authorized applications based on their IT-defined user roles;
• Identity federation, which enables access to cloud-based applications, multi-forest collaboration, heterogeneous platforms, partner extranets and other online resources without the need for redundant user passwords;
• Application Portal for application discovery and remote access;
• Auditing and reporting on access events for compliance, repudiation and forensics purposes;
• Support for OpenID Connect Protocol, which enables support for Web and mobile applications;
• Microsoft Certification as part of Microsoft's "Works with Office 365" Identity Partner Program.
