The University of South Alabama recently kicked off a project to integrate its financial systems with a research management application.

The university will be adopting Cayuse 424 and Cayuse SP from Evisions to reengineer the administration processes for research by automating much of the data transfer between the new software and an existing Ellucian Banner Finance module.

Cayuse 424 is intended to simplify the work of creating and submitting federal grant proposals. Cayuse SP is used to manage the business aspects of sponsored projects.

"The Office of Research and Economic Development has identified increasing the number of grant and contract proposals, especially those regarded as large and/or interdisciplinary proposals, as one of the key strategic objectives of 2013-2016. Partnering with Evisions for proposal development and multi-project submission supports that objective," said Gina Hedberg, director of Sponsored Projects Administration. "Leveraging the integration with Banner Finance and other Banner supported systems will reduce duplicate data entry, align systems and improve procedures."

Cayuse software has also been used by Ohio State University and the University of California, San Francisco, among other institutions.
