National Instruments' NI LabVIEW Available for Engineering Education

National Instruments recently announced the availability of NI LabVIEW, a version of LabVIEW graphical programming environment for The Infinity Project. The LabVIEW program is designed to aid The Infinity Project in providing curricula for high school and early college engineering education."The LabVIEW graphical approach to programming makes it an ideal platform to teach problem solving and engineering concepts. NI LabVIEW for The Infinity Project software is a key to helping The Infinity Project achieve its goal of bringing the most innovative engineering education to every high school in the country," said Geoffrey Orsak, dean of engineering at Southern Methodist University and founder of The Infinity Project, in a prepared statement.
According to National Instruments, the graphical programming language uses project-based learning to help instructors teach engineering concepts. The software is designed to allow teachers to access existing labs, as well as to create new labs. NI LabVIEW is compatible with other components of the Infinity Technology Kit.
The Infinity Project, founded at Southern Methodist University, provides a package of engineering courses, technology, and professional development used in more than 230 classrooms.
