Palo Verde College To Deploy ERP, Portal Solutions

11/1/2007

Palo Verde College is revamping its enterprise resource planning with the adoption of Datatel Colleague, becoming the 40th community college in California to adopt the solution. The college is also deploying Datatel ActiveAdmissions for recruitment and ActiveCampus Portal as its portal solution.

Colleague will be used at the school in an effort to improve constituent services, but also to help meet state reporting requirements, according to Adam Houston, director of IT at Palo Verde College.

"Datatel is extremely familiar and experienced working with California community colleges--especially when related to our state's reporting requirements," Houston said. "Datatel was the clear winner for us in our vendor selection process because of its vision and ability to deploy a diverse solution, and support a wide range of business processes. We were also impressed with the ActiveCampus Portal, which is ahead of its competitors in terms of offering advanced portal technology with a modern look and feel. And with ActiveAdmissions, we will be able to offer 24/7 online applications for students' convenience."

Datatel Colleague integrates a variety of business functions, including data entry, regulatory updates, employee benefits management, and analytical reports, among others. It comprises five individual components, which are designed to run on a variety of databases and operating systems: Colleague Advancement, Colleague Finance, Colleague Financial Aid, Colleague HR, and Colleague Student.

Palo Verde College serves more than 2,000 students and operates two campuses in California--one in Blythe and one in Needles.
