'Connecting All Cars'--Rutgers Building Wireless Patrol Net

Rutgers University will design and deploy a wireless network that will connect its Division of Public Safety's 14 patrol vehicles.Chartered in 1766, the historic university will create a network comprising laptops in the security vehicles, wireless modems, and high-definition video recording equipment. The network will provide enough bandwidth to accommodate automatic uploads from the high-def video gear to a central server.
Additionally, the network will work with Rutgers' record management system and also let campus safety officers immediately access law enforcement databases.
Rutgers will work with Quality Communications, a subsidiary of communications design-build engineering firm WPCS International, to develop and deploy the network.
