Director of Retention Angela Naginey has employed a “holistic” strategy in her retention initiative at Cal Lutheran University. Her plan includes partnerships across campus, early identification of at-risk students, and a continuous review process. All components are supported both with software, including Hobsons’ Retain, and with ongoing outreach efforts.

The San Diego Supercomputer Center at the UC San Diego has installed a 10,368-core AMD-based cluster that uses flash storage in place of traditional disk drives. One university hospital has mandated the use of removable media from IronKey for staff and consultants who carry patient data with them. Based in California, IronKey sells encrypted USB drives that can be managed remotely by IT administrators through a Web-based application. If a device goes missing, IT can remotely disable it and wipe the data.
