Unisys and University Collaborate on IT Project

The University of California Irvine's Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is teaming up with Unisys Corp. to develop new IT methods for companies. Unisys will then use results from this partnership in some of its new products. This part of their approach to business, described as a "3D-VE approach, designed to enable customers to see and then act on cause-effect relationships among business strategy, processes, and IT requirements throughout the entire enterprise."… (InformationWeek)

Universities Band to Push for More Diverse IT Field

With as many as 1.5 million new IT jobs opening in the next six years, the field could become more available for women and minorities. The National Science Foundation gave $2 million to Students and Technology in Academia, Research and Service (STARS) Alliance. Auburn University, Florida State University, Florida A&M, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte are just some of the 10 universities participating in this project to diversify computer science fields… (Network World)
