Microsoft Looks to Academia for Talent, Business
A senior editor for the Chronicle of Higher Education said, "Microsoft certainly pays a lot of attention to the education space.” This sentiment is evident in the company’s recent technology competition, the Imagine Cup, which pits college students against each other in a battle to use Microsoft programs in innovative ways. Tablet PCs Required for Virginia Tech Engineers
Virginia Polytechnic Institute began requiring students to own computers back in 1984. This fall, with the help of Microsoft and Fujitsu Computer Systems, all incoming freshman engineering students will be given new Fujitsu LifeBook T4000s for free.
