Polytechnic University’s (NY) new Vice President of Research and Technology Initiatives Jane A. Alexander served in the federal government for nearly two decades, and now leaves her post as deputy director of the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency in Washington DC to join the university in New York City.

Throughout her career, Alexander has had oversight of research in a variety of technical areas, including materials science, nan'electronics, opt'electronics, medical technologies, biological and chemical sensors, electronic components and sensors, and software systems. At Polytechnic University she will apply her expertise in managing such cutting-edge research to her work with faculty on research funding, strategic implementation of a range of new research initiatives, and fostering collaborations among faculty, students, and industry.

“I am excited to join Polytechnic University,” says Dr. Alexander. “The university is filled with advanced research expertise in wireless communications, cyber security, polymers, bio-medical engineering, and information systems to name just a few. I look forward to expanding its research and technology initiatives as Poly applies its scientific and engineering prowess to the critical opportunities of the 21st century.”
