Penn State Launches Cable Television Network

Penn State University Wednesday launched Penn State On Demand, a collaboration with cable provider Comcast to provide its 2.4 million Pennsylvania customers high speed access to hundreds of hours of programming produced by the university.

The  service, available at no additional cost to Comcast subscribers, will provide interviews, instructional and educational videos, documentaries, and archival material to consumers on their own schedule. Topics range from interviews and programs about campus life to educational content, such as programs on history, health care and the environment.

The programming can be called up according to the schedule and interests of the viewer, who can pause, fast-forward, or rewind.
