Coral8 Updates CEP Software

Coral8, based in Mountain View, CA, Monday announced a new version of Coral8 Engine, its complex event processing (CEP) software.

Coral8 Engine 5.2 is an incremental release that features several user-requested upgrades, including the ability to use standard SQL language to query Coral8 data. It also includes "audit-trail" event capture. There are new security features, such as integration with pluggable authentication modules in Solaris and Linux.

The Coral8 product is a middleware platform designed to help developers create applications using real-time information. The product "provides a scalable, manageable platform to deploy these real-time CEP applications anywhere and everywhere in the organization," according to the company's announcement.

Developers can try out the product using a free developer version of Coral8, which enables the testing and building of CEP applications.
