The
Wyoming Community College Commission, which has seven colleges, and the
University of Wyoming have subscribed to the
ebrary Academic Complete e-book database, according to the company.
Academic Complete encompasses 37,700 e-books and other authoritative content in academic subject areas from leading publishers. The database also includes research tools and can be integrated with other online resources in the library and on the web through ebrary InfoTools, which turns all words in the database into contextual links.
"We are ecstatic to offer ebrary's Academic Complete to our member libraries, as it provides instant access to a wide range of full-text content and features an easy-to-use interface with tools that make the research process quicker and more productive," said Karen Lange, library director at Laramie County Community College and chair of the Community College Library Funding Committee. "One feature that is particularly attractive is ebrary's bookshelves, which students may use at any subscribing campus."
Bookshelves allow users to save links to highlights, notes and bookmarks. The software includes a function that generates automatic citations when text is printed or copied and pasted with URL hyperlinks back to the source. The service provides a
reader utility, a 700K application that gives users access to the e-books and other PDF documents in the database.
