TOLIS Partners with Parallels, Provides Server Backup Solution for Mac

TOLIS Group has partnered with virtualization software provider Parallels to provide solutions that integrate with the Parallels platform.

Accordingto TOLIS, the companies have successfully tested TOLIS' BRU Servernetwork backup platform for compatibility with Parallels Server forMac. The solution is intended to simplify the backup process forvirtualized systems, providing easy capture and restoration of data.

"Invirtualized system environments, BRU Server's advanced architecturesimply treats the host and guest systems as networked client systems,"said Tim Jones, president and CTO of TOLIS Group, in a preparedstatement. "Both file by file and disaster recovery compatible imagebackup and restore of guest systems are supported using normal BRUServer operations--no special treatment is needed. BRU Server andParallels work together seamlessly."

According to theannouncement, BRU Server's agents provide backup support for a varietyof guest systems, including Mac OS X, Windows, Solaris, and Linux,among others. TOLLIS' BRU Server will be listed in the ParallelsCertified Products catalog.
