After a brief pilot,
Vanderbilt University in Nashville will be implementing
Persystent Technologies' Persystent to maintain PC configuration compliance. The software automatically repairs and restores an infected or corrupted PC's operating system and software applications, on or off the network, while also enforcing configuration policies.
The automated repair process kicks in when the PC is turned on. Persystent repairs the files that are out of compliance with the authorized image for a computer.
"We found that Persystent will greatly improve our ability to manage our desktop computers," said F. Clark Williams, Jr., director, IT support, office of the dean of students.
Persystent has been deployed at the
University of Maryland and
Seminole Community College in Sanford, FL.
