Wren Adds Access Control Management to Security Line

Wren Solutions, a company that sells network video products, has added IP access control to its roster of security offerings. Wren Access Control Software allows administrators to control access to doors via a Web-based application. The software integrates with hardware from HID and Assa Abloy.

"Our customers were clamoring for a single-source provider of video and access control solutions," said Andrew Wren, president of the company. "They can now access turnkey solutions including software, hardware, installation, support, and training."

A survey conducted by Wren in August 2008 indicated that schools have key security gaps involving access control. Electronic access control systems aren't being used in the majority of schools that participated in the survey and only 28 percent of responding schools felt "extremely confident" in their ability to ensure perimeter doors would securely lock in case of an emergency lock down.
