Two institutions--Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV and Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA--have gone public with their deployments of e2Campus from Omnilert for campus notification.
e2Campus provides a means for a college to send text, voice, e-mail, social networking site status updates, and desktop alerts in the event of an emergency and to broadcast messages via campus digital signage, alert beacons, loudspeakers, and public address systems.
"At Geneva College, we checked into different options regarding emergency notification systems and ended up selecting e2Campus because it was unmatched in experience and price," said Dennis Damazo, director of security for the school, which reported 1,625 students in 2006. "We used e2Campus recently when we had a major power outage and were very pleased with the results. As a matter of fact, after we used e2Campus, we had an increase in new subscriptions."
"After a thorough review process, the Emergency Response Team at Alderson-Broaddus College decided to go with e2Campus as our emergency notification service," said Allen Withers, vice president of student services and enrollment management of the 750-student school. "The Omnilert product has worked perfectly for us as a small institution and has proven to be a wise choice. We have used it on a few occasions for weather related incidents thus far and have been very pleased."
