U Toledo Foundation Moves to Agilon for Fundraising

The University of Toledo Foundation in Ohio will be implementing a donor management application from Agilon to replace a RuffaloCODY Ascend fundraising database system that has been in use since 1991. In addition the Foundation will deploy a fund accounting system from Agresso, a Netherlands company that partners with Agilon to sell its enterprise resource planning software in North America.

The university, which has 20,000 students, recently raised $106.2 million in a campaign. Agilon's One, the new donor management system, will be used by staff in the Foundation, Office of Development, and the Alumni Association to maintain data on alumni, donors, and friends and provide streamlined processes for fundraising, prospect management, communications, stewardship, alumni memberships, and financial reporting. The system is expected to go live in June 2010.

"Agilon's fundraising and fund accounting systems provide the Foundation with the framework and tools needed to achieve our vision of process innovation and efficiency in operations, financial reporting, donor prospecting, development, solicitation, and stewardship," said Vern Snyder, vice president for institutional advancement. "This project will enable us to expand stakeholder involvement in fundraising efforts throughout the university, and empower development directors to effectively manage all aspects of their relationships with their prospects."

Brenda Lee, president of the Foundation, said she expected the Web access and reporting capabilities to improve the way the organization does business, "by allowing staff to make improved strategic decisions based on relevant, timely, and accurate information."
