EdTek Adds LMS to Portfolio of Small College Services

EdTek Services, which provides services to colleges and universities, has chosen an online learning environment from It's Learning as the company's learning management system (LMS). The company, which sells services in the areas of accreditation, program development, student recruitment, program management, and e-learning technology to smaller education institutions, will now offer customers access to the LMS system for delivering their online and traditional courses.

"As our small to medium size higher education partners became savvier about their online offerings, we found a need to provide them with a robust and cost-effective alternative to the limited and increasingly expensive choices we have had in North America for the last 10 years," said Paul Jacobelli, founder and president of EdTek. "The It's Learning platform provides the multitude of features we were searching for in an LMS, with unparalleled ease of use and excellent support services. In a cost comparison we determined that adopting the It's Learning LMS was less than going the open-source route while getting the best that open-source offered right out of the gate. This LMS will serve as a valuable resource for both our current and future customers."

Traditional, It's Learning has sold to K-12 and higher education clients in Europe. In the spring of 2009, the company opened operations in the United States to reach the American education market.
