Atlona Technologies has rolled out a new KVM extender that uses wireless USB adapters to transmit keyboard, video, mouse, and audio signals to a maximum of 30 feet.
The new extender, AT-PClink, is available as a bundled package that includes one USB input dongle, one USB output dongle, and a docking base that offers a DVI input, 3.5 mm audio input, and two USB terminals.
The input dongle connects to a desktop or laptop system; the output dongle gives the signal to a display; and the docking bay extends an additional keyboard and mouse, audio input, or DVI signal. Using additional output dongles allows the system to extend to a maximum of four displays.
The device supports resolutions up to 1,440 x 1,050 via DVI and up to 720p via HDMI.
Software included with the extender offers mirror image mode, a setting that sends the video signal as a copy of the original image, and extend mode, an option that combines multiple displays.
The KVM extender is covered by a three year warranty and is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. It currently ships for $169. Further information is available here.
