Crestron Launches Power Over Ethernet Switch

Crestron's CEN-SWPOE-24 is a 24-port power over Ethernet switch.

Crestron has rolled out a new Power over Ethernet switch that connects with up to 24 PoE-compatible devices.

The new switch, dubbed the CEN-SWPOE-24, accepts connections through either of its two 10/100/1000Base-T uplink ports, while controlling and powering equipment through any of its 24 rear-mounted IEEE 802.3af standard PoE ports.

Designed as a rackmount unit, the switch offers an 8.8 Gbps non-blocking switch fabric. Other features include auto-negotiation, digital port labels, and a front management port that mirrors the rear ports to aid with troubleshooting and monitoring.

The CEN-SWPOE-24 uses Crestron Engraver, a program that allows customization of the switch's digital port labels, and Crestron Toolbox, software that uploads firmware, detects control cards and system devices, logs error messages, and runs diagnostics.

LED indicators for speed, link, and PoE for all LAN ports, as well as separate power and port mirroring indicators, are included on the front panel of the switch.

The CEN-SWPOE-24 is currently shipping.
