National University System Renews Partnership with Pearson LearningStudio

A company affiliated with National University and other institutions within the National University System has extended a contract to continue its use of Pearson's Web-based learning management system for an additional five years. Spectrum Pacific Learning Co. works with companies and colleges to create online learning; its services include content and course development, courseware hosting, video production, and project management. It began working with Pearson technologies in 1998.

Under this latest agreement, the National University System will continue to use Pearson LearningStudio as a platform for its online programs, with plans to expand its use of the technology to include on-campus programs. LearningStudio is delivered in a software-as-a-service model.

The System will also continue its use of Pearson's Academic Enterprise Reporting suite to monitor and do analysis of its online course offerings. It also plans to adopt Pearson's Learning Outcome Manager functionality to track student achievement of learning objectives in the classroom.

"The decision to renew our relationship with Pearson was simple," said Cynthia Larson-Daugherty, president for Spectrum Pacific Learning. "In Pearson we have found a trusted educational partner with reliable technology and network security and a 24/7 helpdesk that ensures we have the resources necessary for a successful academic experience for our students, faculty, and university system affiliates."

National University, the flagship institution of the system, is a private non-profit school in San Diego with multiple campus locations in the state of California and one in Henderson, near Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to National University, Spectrum Pacific Learning also works with affiliates John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA and National University Virtual High School with headquarters in La Jolla, CA, as well as other schools.
