Leviton Launches Opt-X Unity 40/100G MTP Fiber System

Leviton Network Solutions this week released its new Opt-X Unity 40/100G preterminated MTP fiber system, the first 24-fiber MTP cabling system on the market.

Opt-X Unity enables network administrators to migrate to IEEE 802.3ba-compliant 40 gigabit Ethernet (GbE) or 100 GbE from existing gigabit or 10 GbE networks. The plug-and-play fiber is designed to allow network administrators to complete the upgrade themselves rather than rely on contractors. The higher density cabling also reduces the number of cables required and improves air flow in data centers.

The system includes preterminated trunks, harnesses, and array cords in addition to the Opt-X Unity 40/100G Multimode MTP Module. Opt-X Unity components are available in the following configurations:

  • Trunks are available in both 12- and 24-fiber connections.
  • Harnesses and array cords are available in 8-, 12-, and 24-fiber connections.
  • Modules come with 12- or 24-fiber MTP connectors on the back that break out to duplex LC connectors or 8-fiber MTP connectors on the front in OM3 and OM4 fiber types.

Leviton can also custom build the modules and assemblies to customer specifications.

The Opt-X Unity is available through Leviton's distribution network. Further information can be found here.
