Cloud-Based Mobile Solution Targets Early Learners
Hatch unveiled its new cloud-based mobile technology for early education, iStartSmart Mobile, at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, FL Wednesday. Designed for teachers and students in pre-kindergarten through first grade, as well as special education, iStartSmart Mobile delivers interactive learning activities and progress monitoring tools in a tablet device.
iStartSmart Mobile personalizes the early education process. The system offers more than 500 games and activities designed to build mastery in math, literacy, and language skills. As students move through the curriculum, iStartSmart Mobile analyzes their responses and selects the appropriate follow-up activity. When students master the required skill, they move to the next activity. If a student struggles, the system models the exercise and will even prompt the student to ask the teacher for help, if needed. The system is also designed to build student confidence by providing positive and constructive feedback as students move through the program.
iStartSmart Mobile's reporting management system delivers progress data to teachers in real time. Teachers can see how much time students are spending on activities and where they're having trouble and gauge their comprehension and proficiency in each skill area. All captured information is stored in the cloud for anytime, anywhere access.
Hatch created the iStartSmart system to develop mastery in 18 core skill areas. iStartSmart Mobile is the company's third product roll out in 2011, with a fourth solution focused on social and emotional development scheduled for release by year's end.
