Laird Technologies has come out with a new 4G antenna for in-building installation as part of an amplifier/repeater system. The company's CMS69273 is a ceiling-mounted broadband, omnidirectional 4G antenna to address both cellular and data communications needs. 4G is the latest generation of cellular wireless standards, which accommodates service up to 1 gigabit per second for stationary usage, such as students accessing the Internet while sitting in a library or classroom.
According to the company, the new antenna handles indoor cell coverage for GSM, DCS, UMTS and LTE/WiMAX standards in the 698 to 960 MHz, 1575 MHz, and 1710 to 2700 MHz frequency ranges. It features a coverage pattern specifically shaped for ceiling placement.
The antenna is available in a low profile, neutral-colored housing. It's listed for about $130 from multiple online sellers.
