VidTel, Vaddio Launch Cloud-Based Videoconferencing System

VidTel and Vaddio have partnered to provide a cloud-based videoconferencing platform and equipment that allows the user to participate from a variety of systems and devices. VidTel's MeetMe uses Vaddio's EasyUSB tools.

MeetMe allows users to participate in videoconferences via Internet-connected PC or Mac computer, smartphone, tablet, and desktop video systems, as well as standard SIP endpoints. It works with many conferencing systems and allows users to dial in from different systems, including Google Talk, Skype, Cisco Jabber, Polycom RealPresence Mobile, Life Size, and CounterPath Bria.

MeetMe provides both standard- and high-definition videoconferencing and allows users to dial in via e-mail address or phone number to connect directly to conferences.

Features of Vaddio EasyUSB tools include:

  • Vaddio ClearView HD-USB PTZ pan/tilt/zoom camera, which has a 19x optical zoom lens and a 58.1-degree wide-angle views, with USB 2.0, H.264 for Ethernet streaming, and component HD outputs;
  • EasyUSB Mixer/Amp, which supports two EasyMic devices, and 2 x 20 Class-D amplifier with two-pin euro terminal;
  • A choice of USB omnidirectional, echo-canceling mics, including the EasyMic MicPod (black), a table microphone, or EasyMic Ceiling MicPod (black or white), which hangs from the ceiling;
  • A room control system, called Webbi, which has a control panel that manages all EasyUSB devices through the Web browser, allowing the user to change volume, mic output levels, video sources, zoom, pan, and tilt the PTZ camera and turn television monitor on or off.

Additionally, Vaddio provides the AV Bridge, which allows the user to integrate legacy systems by using USB and Ethernet connections to go from analog to digital.

No special USB drivers need to be installed with any of the equipment.
