Cooper Notification Offers LED Notification Appliances

Mass notification company Cooper Notification has begun introducing LED-based notification products. The Wheelock Exceder Series of audio and visual appliances now includes LED strobes, horns, and horn strobes that have, what the company said in a statement, are the "industry's lowest current draw."

Compared to previous devices, the energy savings of the new ones can be up to 52 percent. Also, a greater number of appliances can be placed on the notification appliance electrical circuit and the setup will require fewer power supplies, smaller wire gage, and reduced wire runs. They're about the size of a cell phone.

The new offerings include several candela settings, a single-gang design, four mounting options and the ability to change settings without tools. The sound devices have two audio settings.

One company, Telcom Data, that sells Wheelock Exceder products has the LED horn and strobe priced at $40.78. A comparable non-LED version sells for $38.35.
